The game
The project combines endless-runner mechanics with a football setting. The core gameplay includes lane changes, jumps, slides, obstacles, scoring and pressure from a referee. The player has to keep moving while reading what comes next.
Building the core
The game is developed with Godot and GDScript. Early work has focused on the main movement controls, spawning sections of the level, scoring and the conditions that end a run. These systems create the foundation for a playable experience before more ambitious visual work.
The intended world
The direction includes national-team themes, stadium atmosphere and environments associated with different countries. I have also explored ideas around branching paths, obstacles, different levels of difficulty and sound. These are development goals, with iOS as the initial mobile priority and Android also in mind.
What makes it a useful challenge
An application can often be assessed screen by screen. A runner has to be assessed through motion: whether the controls respond well, whether an obstacle is readable and whether the sequence remains interesting. That makes iteration on timing and feedback especially important.
Current stage
World Rush Football is still in development. The focus is on improving the visual quality and the feel of play around the working core.
